Chapter 22A, Intermunicipal Agreements

§ 22A-1. Agreement.
The Borough of Harveys Lake shall enter into agreement for intergovernmental cooperation known as the "Municipal Police Cooperative Agreement," hereinafter referred to as the "agreement."
§ 22A-2. Statutory authority.
This agreement is entered into pursuant to the provisions of 53 P.S. §§ 483 and 485EN relating to cooperation in governmental functions.
§ 22A-3. Purpose; objectives.
The purposes and objectives of the agreement are as follows:
A. To enhance the coordination of drug investigations in portion of Luzerne County, under the Mid Valley Narcotics unit.
B. To provide for mutual police to more effectively enforce the provisions of narcotics and illegal drug laws and thereby to preserve the safety and welfare of the entire area.
C. To have available for use throughout the territorial limits of all municipalities signing the mutual agreement, the services of police employed by any and all of said municipalities, under the conditions set forth and in compliance with the Municipal Police Jurisdiction Act, 42 P.S. § 8951 et seq.
§ 22A-4. Conditions; terms.
The agreement shall be subject to all the conditions and terms specified and set forth in the Municipal Police Cooperative Agreement, which include the manner and extent of financing the agreement, the organizational structure necessary to implement the agreement, the powers and scope of authority delegated in the agreement and the manner in which property, real or personal, shall be acquired, managed or disposed of.
§ 22A-5. Length of agreement.
The duration of the agreement shall be indefinite subject to termination by Harveys Lake Borough at its sole discretion with notice as provided in the agreement.
